Talbot's piece was obviously the must read of the week. Reminded me some of the older (oh, yikes, 11 years older) one on Argentine orphans (https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2012/03/19/children-of-the-dirty-war) in its exploration of both a singular scandal and the broader malaise in a country which caused it.

Runner-up for me was the Talk of the Town piece on weather prediction. This felt like an odd choice for Talk of the Town. Too serious of a subject / profile for such a short space. I would have gladly read a feature about this company and modern weather prediction.

Overall, this was my favorite issue in the last couple months. Not usually much of a Hilton Als fan but enjoyed that comedy review. I was listening to the article and the quoted jokes landed for me, even with the less-than-ideal comic timing of text-to-speech. Could have done without that SBF piece, especially since there was a similar longform article on his parents in last week's Businessweek.
